Ever wonder what the author of the latest novel you read thinks of the review you posted on Goodreads? Do they even read those reviews? You have to watch this hilarious video by YA author Lauren DeStefano on “the perils of Goodreads” for her answer. :)
As a side note, I took an online class with science fiction and fantasy writer Cat Rambo yesterday. I would highly recommend her classes to anyone interested. She uses “hangouts” on Google (so you can attend in your PJs if you want –hey, you can’t beat that, right?) and teaches classes on various literary topics. Cat is a Clarion graduate and former editor of Fantasy Magazine. Her current class list can be found on her weblog here: http://www.kittywumpus.net/blog/upcoming-online-classes/

This is hilarious. And she made me hungry eating all that cereal
Heeheehee.
Thanks for sharing the info about writing classes. I’m hoping to get involved in a class this year. And one that has a PJ dress code sounds awesome!
It was great –I was really impressed with the way she runs her classes.
This is so true! And therefore disturbing
Thanks for making me think. On a Monday. That other people have as a holiday, but not me. Dammit, why’d you make me think on a Monday?
Seriously though, love Writerlious!
Sorry… I guess I shouldn’t mention that I wore pajamas all day and polished off a box of Girl Scout cookies?
Lol, this is great!
Goodreads can be brutal! I know a lot of authors that just don’t read their Goodreads’ reviews. I, of course, check my reviews every day!
Heheehee. So you’re totally like Lauren!
Hysterical.
I will look this up. I can certainly learn a lot from those who are patient enough to teach. Thanks. I hope her schedule is easy.
